Setting up division entry restrictions for your event registration
You can set up entry restrictions at a division level for your event to ensure athletes only register in divisions for which they are eligible. i.e. a 17-year-old female athlete cannot enter into a U16 Male division.
The types of restrictions you can apply to a division are powered by the registration form fields that are active for an event, giving you lots of flexibility in ensuring only the right athetels are eligible for your events.
This article will take you through all the variations we offer for division-level entry restrictions for both individual and team divisions.
Age Restrictions
- Maximum and/or minimum Age - To set a maximum and/or minimum age requirement for individual and/or team division, please refer to the Set age restrictions on registration (DOB) article.
- Additionally, for team divisions, we also have restrictions for
- Team member age - Where members of a team have to meet specific age requirements. Please refer to the Set event division entry restrictions for team member individual ages article.
- Combined age - Common in Surf lifesaving for masters events, where the combined age of all team members has to meet a maximum and/or minimum value. Please refer to the Set team combined age division entry restrictions on event registrations article.
Nationality
- If a division is only open to a specific set of Nationalities or a single Nationality, please refer to our article: Set Nationality restrictions on event registrations
Custom restrictions (e.g Gender restrictions)
- Many divisions have custom restrictions such as Gender, Discipline and/or State. We therefore allow you the flexibility of be able to restrict entries based on any custom field that has the type dropdown.
- For details on how to set this up, please refer to our article: Set custom division entry restrictions on event registrations (e.g Gender, Discipline, State)
