Setting and editing the team roster in teams formats

Liveheats supports team events such as tag teams in surfing and relays in surf lifesaving. This article describes how to:

Set the division's template to a Teams template

  1. Go to the Event settings and add the division to your event
  2. On the Event dashboard, click the division
  3. Click on the Template and change it to your sport's relevant Teams template

Add teams to the division

There are 3 ways you can add teams to the division:

  1. Collect event registrations directly through Liveheats - This is our recommended way of accepting entries into an event. Read more about how to set up this in our article: Accepting athlete registrations for your event
  2. Import team entries - We recommend this option if you have a lot of entries and would prefer to upload them into Liveheats in bulk. Read more about how to set up this in our article: Importing your athlete list
  3. Manually add a team entry - This is a great to add latecomers or wildcards. Read more about how to set up this in our article: Manually adding teams to a division

Set or edit a team roster

  1. Go to your Event dashboard and click the division
  2. Click on the required team from Teams list. From Here you can add, edit and remove atheltes from the team roster.

  1. You can also add or edit the club name by using the Team field.  If you're using the club point score, be careful to use the correct spelling:

  1. Click Save
  2. Now you can build the draw and record the heats as usual

FAQs for using this feature

Do I have to add the team roster?

No, adding the team roster is optional, but required if you'd like the live public results & draw to display the athlete's names. Otherwise it'll work fine if you leave it blank.

Can I import the team roster?

Yes, you can. This article will walk you through how to do that: Importing your athlete or teams list

Can I edit the team roster?

Yes, you can edit the team roster between rounds and it won't affect completed heats, but do not edit the team roster for teams in a live heat with scores, as you will lose any scores for athletes you remove from the team's roster

How do I deal with a power surfer if they compete in two slots?

An athlete can only appear in the team's roster once, so if the power surfer competes in two athlete slots, just leave the second slot blank as "Athlete 6". Otherwise, you can add an asterix "*" to their name to create a duplicate profile.
