Configuring and running double banks or dual podiums in the schedule

Liveheats supports double banks, also known as double beaching, peaks, podiums, dual panels or areas. This allows you to run two schedule blocks (heats or runs) at the same time. This is most common if you're running two divisions together, with a judging panel scoring each side independently.

How to setup double banks in the schedule

1. Once you've created draws for all the divisions go to the Schedule on the event dashboard menu
2. In the Schedule editor, you'll see two areas - Main bank and Secondary bank. These can be renamed by clicking the pencil icon:
3. To run double banks, drag any schedule blocks onto the Secondary bank. You can hold down shift/command to multi select blocks and drag in bulk:

How to judge and head judge double banks

1. To judge when running double banks, you must set up additional devices (phone or tablet) for the judges and the head judge (if using two head judges) on the secondary bank. You can use the additional logins (judge 3, judge 4, and judge 5), provided in your Welcome to Liveheats email. See more.

Common questions

How do we start and end heats or runs in double banks?

The director or head judge can start/end heats in the usual way via the event remote. Note, both areas of the schedule must start and end together. If you want to run them out of sequence its best to setup a separate event.

How does the public view scores when double banking?

It's the exact same. Spectators can reach the event via your Liveheats organisation page, they'll see both heats. It'll be the same on your TV whiteboard page. See more for how public can view the live event here.
