Creating and verifying your Liveheats account
Your Liveheats account is how you enter events, manage your memberships, and keep track of your results. If you're a parent or guardian, one account lets you manage all your athletes' entries and memberships, and follow their progression.
When you sign up, you'll be asked for your date of birth. This determines how your account is set up, and helps us keep the platform safe for everyone who uses it, from athletes to organisers.
If you're 13 or older, you can create and manage your own account straight away. If you're under 13, you can't hold your own account. A parent or guardian creates and manages the account on your behalf. This is a legal requirement in some regions, and applies to anyone under 13 signing up through Liveheats, no matter the sport, event or organisation.
Must knows
- One account is enough for a parent or guardian to manage multiple children.
- Athletes under 13 can't create or access their own login. If they try to sign up directly, they'll be given a link to send to a parent or guardian instead.
- Enter your own date of birth, not your child's. You'll add your athlete's profile after your account is set up.
- A parent or guardian setting up an account for an under 13 athlete completes a small, temporary card authorisation. This confirms an adult is setting up the account. Nothing is charged, and the authorisation is released automatically.
How to create your account (13 and over)
- Select Sign up from the Liveheats homepage, or start from an event or membership registration.
- Enter your date of birth.
- Choose Google, Apple or Facebook, or enter your email address and select Send verification link.
- If you chose Google, Apple or Facebook, follow the prompts from that platform to sign in.
- If you entered your email address, open the email from Liveheats and select Verify your email.
- If you entered your email address, enter your first name, last name and password.
- Select Create account. If you also want to set up an organisation to run events, select Create organisation and follow the additional steps.

Didn't get the verification email? Check your spam folder, then use Resend link. If you've already verified in another tab or browser, resending won't do anything and you're good to keep going.
How to sign up if you're under 13
- Select Sign up and enter your date of birth.
- You'll see a link to send to a parent or guardian. Copy it and send it to them however you like, for example by text or email.
- Your parent or guardian opens the link and sets up the account.
- Once their account is set up, they can add your athlete profile and enter you into events and memberships.

How to set up the account as a parent or guardian
These instructions apply if your child has sent you a link to get started. You can also sign up yourself directly using the instructions above.
Card authorisation is part of this step and confirms an adult is setting up the account. It isn't a payment, and nothing is charged.
- Open the link your child sent you.
- Enter your own date of birth.
- Enter your card details when prompted.
- We place a temporary authorisation on your card.
- Check your banking app or statement for the exact amount, then enter that amount to continue.
- Complete your account creation.
The authorisation is released automatically. You can now enter yourself and your athletes into events and memberships. Any athlete you enter is linked to your account.

If you can't complete card verification
You don't need to sort this out on your own. Contact our support team and we'll verify you another way, so you can finish setting up the account.
Get in touch if:
- You don't have a card to use.
- You can't access your banking app or statement to find the authorisation amount.
- The amount you entered isn't being accepted. Check you've entered the exact amount first, then reach out.
Common questions
Why do you need a date of birth?
Collecting date of birth allows us to apply the right account setup for younger athletes, and meet our obligations to protect children's privacy online.
I'm setting up an account for my child. Whose date of birth do I enter?
Your own. You'll add your child's athlete profile once your account is set up.
Will the parent or guardian be charged anything?
No. The card authorisation only confirms the account is being set up by an adult. The authorised amount is released automatically and never charged.
I've seen a small Liveheats authorisation on my card and I'm not sure why.
That's a verification step to ensure an adult is setting up the Liveheats account. It's released automatically, but contact us if you'd like it released sooner.
Can an athlete under 13 have their own login later?
Not through this process. The parent or guardian remains the account holder and manages the athlete's entries, memberships and results. Once an athlete turns 13 they can choose to create their own account, and ask their parent or guardian to link their athlete profile.
Can one parent or guardian manage more than one athlete?
Yes. Once the account is set up and verified, additional athlete profiles can be added and managed from the same account.
I've lost the link before sending it to my parent or guardian.
Return to the sign up screen at any time to copy the link again.
I didn't receive my verification email.
Check your spam folder, then use Resend link. If it still doesn't arrive, contact our support team.
