Step-by-step guide to running a Liveheats native stream using your smartphone
Streaming via Liveheats is here!
Live streaming your event through Liveheats is quick to set up and can be done entirely from a smartphone.
Follow the steps below to get up and running.

Simple setup: phone & tripod
Recommended phones with a strong optical zoom:
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
- iPhone Pro (14/15/16 Pro)
- Google Pixel Pro
Audio set up:
- Use the phone’s built-in microphone
- Position yourself near the event speaker system
- Avoid standing directly in wind
Use a tripod with phone mount that allows for smooth panning and stable framing
Install a streaming app - we recommend PRISM Live Studio
We also recommend upgrading to the premium version (recommended for stability and features)

Get your stream key via Liveheats
To connect your stream:
- Go to your Event Settings in Liveheats
- Open Video Studio
- Generate your RTMP URL & Stream Key

Connect your stream on PRISM to Liveheats
Open your PRISM app and click READY

Select Custom RTMP

Enter the stream URL (RTMP) and the stream key that you generated in Liveheats, give your stream a name and save.

Hit Go Live in PRISM and start filming the action.

Your stream will automatically appear on your Liveheats event homepage for spectators to watch - see below an example for the watch button on desktop.

Production set up
To embed your stream on Liveheats you will need to set a generated RTMP and Key as a stream output on your production software (e.g. OBS, vMix, etc…)
Get your stream key via Liveheats
To connect your stream:
- Go to your Event Settings in Liveheats
- Open Video Studio
- Generate your RTMP URL & Stream Key
👉 These are required to link PRISM to Liveheats
IMPORTANT: If you have purchased lightning visual graphics or have any other graphics already embedded, be sure to unselect the Liveheats graphics

Input the parameters into your production software (ex. OBS)
A. Via OBS:
- Open OBS settings and select the “stream” option.
- In the “service” drop down menu, select “custom option”.

Some tips for a better stream:
- Keep surfers centered in frame
- Pan slowly and smoothly
- Use zoom carefully (avoid excessive digital zoom)
- Film from a slightly elevated position if possible
- Ensure you have a strong internet connection (min 3 bars of 4G/5G or WiFi)
