# Setting the event location

When creating your event, or editing the event settings you can set the event location. This can be:

* a specific place (e.g. Venice Beach Skateboard Park)
* a city (e.g. Venice Beach), or
* a region (e.g. Los Angeles)

This displays on the public event page, giving your athletes and spectators an easy way to find your event location. It also sets the event timezone, which is used in the event and registration schedule.
