# Set Nationality restrictions on event registrations

For some divisions, you might like to enable restrictions so that athletes can only register for their eligible division based on their Nationality, e.g for National Championships.

Liveheats allows you to limit each division to a specific nationality or set of nationalities.

# How to set nationality restrictions on registration

1. Go to the **Event settings** and click the **Registrations** tab

2. Scroll down to the **Registration form** section, and if not already active Nationality field

***Please note:**** this is our default Nationality field and lists all Nationalities with the full name. If your event requires an alternative list e.g the official IOC Nationality list. 3. Once the Nationality field is active, navigate to the **Entry restrictions** tab and scroll down to the **Division eligibility rules** area and click the + icon next to the Division that requires the Nationality restriction

4. Click the **Nationality** option from the list

5. Once clicked, search and select the **Nationality or Nationalities** you'd like to create a restriction for   
e.g

6. Click **Update** to add the restriction, and then click **Save** at the bottom of the **Entry restrictions** tab

7. During registration, your athletes will now see the following style message and will not be able to enter if they do not fit the requirements for the division:
