# Scheduling event entry open and/or close dates and times

We offer the ability to schedule the automatic opening and/or close of your event registrations. This is particularly useful when you have a large number of events or you have a specific date and time that your event registrations will open and/or close.

Scheduling event entries to automatically open and close are independent of each other; meaning you can set both or just one of them.

In this article, we will run through how to set, update and delete them.

|| Please note: The scheduling technology we use ensures that event entries will automatically update to open and/or close within 60 seconds of the date and time set. Therefore we cannot guarantee entries will open and/or close on the exact second.

# How to set event entry open or closed automatically

1. Firstly navigate to The **Event settings** page, then the **Registration** tab.

|| Please note: Event location is required to schedule entries. This is because we use the event location to set the timezone of the event. Read more about how to do that in our article: Setting the event location.

2. Check the event status. This should be **Scheduled** if you are setting **Entry opens** only or **Entry opens** & **Entry closes.** If setting **Entry closes** only this should be set to  **Entry open**. Unless you plan to open entries manually at another time, in this case setting **Scheduled** would be recommended. The Event status can be changed at any time by clicking the event status menu.
