LiveHeats offers a solution for organisations that have multiple levels, like state, national, or international bodies. Examples include:

* World Snowboard Federation with over 50 member nations (two levels)
* Surfing New Zealand with 20+ clubs (two levels)
* Surf Life Saving Australia with States, Branches and Clubs (four levels)

LiveHeats offers a **Federation solution** for the needs of these organisations. Features include:

* ability for shared **Series** for the purpose of using the same rankings, seedings, or memberships
* ability to offer **Federated memberships** where athletes join a particular home region, nation, or club in your federation
* single athlete database shared by all organiser accounts
* shared **custom athlete or division fields** that allow you to have common athlete profiles
* a directory that lists all the child accounts:

Organisers at each level will have their own LiveHeats account. To set up a multi-level ranking for your organisation and child organisations, email us at [community@liveheats.com](mailto:community@liveheats.coma) and we can set it up for you.

Once configured, child organisations will be permitted to add their events to the parent's, or grand parent's series. See [this article](https://liveheats.crisp.help/en/article/publishing-your-event-result-to-the-federations-rankings-efhmn7/) with the child organisation with the steps to add their event to your rankings.

# Important things to notes before using LiveHeats federated rankings feature:

* If a child organiser is using a [leaderboard multiplier](https://liveheats.crisp.help/en/article/increasing-or-decreasing-the-rankings-point-weighting-for-an-event-5nhhy5/) for an event, that multiplier will be applied to that event on the parent's rankings
* When the child's event status is **Complete** the event will appear on the parent director's **Rankings** tab (not to the public)
* When the child's event status is **Results published**, the event will appear on the parent director's **Ranking** tab, as well as the parent organisation's public **Rankings** tab
* In some cases, duplicate athletes (same athlete appearing on separate rows multiple times) will appear on the parent rankings. See [here](https://liveheats.crisp.help/en/article/merging-duplicate-athletes-profiles-double-ups-xlgqgp/) for how to manage them.
