# How to score a heat or run when Score anywhere mode is enabled

The **Score anywhere scoring method** is for events where a recorder or tabulator can score any division’s heat or run at any time via the Draw tab in each division. It is the default setting in Surf Life Saving and Freeride Ski & Snowboard. ## How to score a heat or run in Score anywhere mode

1. Go into a **division** locate the **draw** and click on the header of any heat/run

2. Once you select "Start" to begin the heat, the recording screen will appear

3. You will then be able to record scores/places by multiple different options which include, typing them in, "Filter and place" & "Scan to record" for our Surf Life Saving sports

4. Once you are finished recording, and only, then  select "**End and confirm**".
