# Creating a standalone event

If you usually run events in a series, you can also run a standalone event at any time, in case you:

* are a club running a one-off charity event
* running an event that doesn't require membership
* running a run event that doesn't belong to the rankings

# When its a standalone event, the following will happen:

* the results do not go into your **Series rankings**
* if you usually require an active membership to register, this setting will not be enabled

# How to set up a standalone event

1. Click **Create event**, or if already created, go to the **Event settings**
2. In the field that reads **Which series does this event belong to?**, just backspace or click to remove any value, so it says **Standalone event**
3. Click **Update event** to save
